Native Americans

The program will focus on the Creek, Cherokee, and Seminole (a group originating from the Creeks) Indians in Georgia from the 1700’s to the 1820’s.

With a large number of original and reproduction items, Peter will present the everyday life of these native peoples. He will guide the students to compare and contrast these groups with each other and the settlers from other countries that moved in among them.

Dressed in period clothing, Peter will relay stories to pique the interest of his listeners and create in them a desire for more information, rather than just trying to “teach it all” in 90 minutes.

The students will have plenty of time to walk among the displays, and pick up the items that they have only seen in books.

Note: Schools desiring a comparison of the western peoples such as the Nez Perce (the pierced nose) need to simply contact Peter regarding the additions.
