"History that Won't Wash Off!"

Gone With The Wind TourCostumed tour guide accompanies you, on your bus, through Jonesboro, Georgia telling the true stories and identifying sights from Gone With The Wind. 

You’ll see: Mr. Kennedy’s store, Margaret Mitchell’s playhouse and shantytown. You’ll learn the identity of Melanie Hamilton, Prissy, Gerald & Ellen O'Hara and more. Tour includes admission to the Road To Tara Museum (the largest permanent GWTW museum in the world). 25 person minimum required for group rates. Tour lasts approximately 3 hours.


The Red Earth Trail
– This expanded tour includes the Gone With The Wind Tour plus additional stories and locations in nearby Fayetteville, GA. 

In Fayetteville, you’ll visit the Fayetteville Academy where Scarlett attended school, you’ll see where the real Tara and Twelve Oaks were located and stand at the gravesite of the model for many of Margaret Mitchell’s characters. 25 person minimum required for group rates. Tour lasts approximately 4 hours.


Gone With The Wind Trail
Travel through the streets of Atlanta accompanied by a costumed tour guide as you visit locations from the book and movie, including sights and stories from Margaret Mitchell’s life and the movie premier.

You’ll identify Dr. Meade, the car shed and Aunt Pitty’s street. You will hear stories of the passion from the Battle of Atlanta in 1864, stories that Margaret Mitchell stated were the foundation for her book.You’ll see where her book was written (The Dump) and where the movie premiered. Admission to the Margaret Mitchell house is included. 25 person minimum required for group rates. Tour lasts approximately 3 hours.


From Civil War to Civil RightsUnderground Atlanta’s new group tour that combines Atlanta history with interactive displays. You will understand how Atlanta’s main floor became the basement.

You will learn of Atlanta’s beginning from a “Stand of peach trees” to “The gateway to the South”. The event loft provides a private display area where you hear, see and touch Atlanta’s history. We will then walk through lower and upper Alabama Streets. 25 person minimum required for group rates. Tour lasts approximately 2 hours.
