Gone With the Wind Tour
In the process of compiling stories for a book on the Battle of Jonesboro, Peter noticed an unusual number of personal accounts from 1864 that mirrored the tales of the characters in Margaret Mitchell's GONE WITH THE WIND.
Upon further research, Peter found in a letter dated July 11, 1936, where Margaret stated, "...all the incidences in the book are true." Margaret spent many hours of her childhood "on bony knees, fat, slick taffeta laps, and soft, flowered muslin laps...while they spiritedly refought the Civil War."
Through this GONE WITH THE WIND Tour, you'll learn the character's real life stories... tales that relate the romantic and tragic lives of an era that is truly Gone With The Wind.
The Gone With The Wind Tour is now being provided through a partnership with the Clayton County Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Road To Tara Museum.
